Edward Said was a famous Palestinian-American professor, academic, and political activist. He was born on November 1, 1935, in Jerusalem, Mandatory Palestine. He died on September 24, 2003, at the age of 67 in New York City, U.S. He is currently burial in Protestant Cemetery, Brummana, Lebanon. He started his early education in his hometown. He completed his B.A from Princeton University and an M.A. & PhD from Harvard University. He marrid to Mariam Cortas in 1970. He is the father of two children. His notable ideas are Occidentalism and Orientalism.
